Celdara Medical Opens Office in Washington D.C.

Celdara Medical, LLC today announced the opening of a new office in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area. Celdara Medical currently has offices in Greater Boston and New York City, and affiliates in Seattle (Virtici) and Indianapolis (MBV).

“This expansion is a direct reflection of the importance of the D.C. region to life science innovation, and of Celdara Medical’s continued pursuit of new therapies with the potential to cure the world’s worst diseases.” said Jake Reder, Ph.D., Co-Founder and CEO of Celdara Medical. “The importance of the D.C./Maryland/Virginia region to global biotech is generally known, but when we quantitatively analyzed our key innovation metrics, the magnitude of the DMV’s contributions really impressed us, and made the decision an easy one.”

Yolanda Nesbeth, Ph.D., will launch and lead the new site. Dr. Nesbeth’s broad experience in early stage partnering and development, her leadership of multidisciplinary and multinational teams, and her background in consulting and strategy development, puts the new initiative in excellent hands. She commented, “With an ideal mix of world-class research institutions – both academic and federal – as well as a strong biotech ecosystem, all within close proximity, the Greater Washington area is a clear and sensible choice. The region represents a centralized zone of underappreciated biotech innovation, providing an opportunity to work closely with leading academicians and researchers within the area to actualize our mutual goals of developing the most promising therapies for challenging diseases. This expansion is timely and coincident with the DMV’s effort to become a ‘top three biotech cluster’ by 2023. We are excited about the opportunity to participate in this regional effort and collaborate to improve human health.”

Dr. Michael Fanger, cofounder and Chairman of Celdara Medical added, “While we already benefit from many strong relationships with leading scientists in the region, establishing a physical presence will enable us to both expand and deepen our collaborations, and to partner with many of the world’s leading innovators. Proximity to the FDA, the USPTO, the NIH, and the rest of the Federal Government is, of course, an additional – and significant – benefit.”

Celdara Medical’s Washington, D.C. location will facilitate hands-on interactions with investigators and strengthen relationships with institutions in the area, while closely integrating with the NYC site and company headquarters in Lebanon, NH.
