Celdara Medical, LLC, a privately-held company advancing early stage innovation into the clinic, is pleased to announce the appointment of Shruti Abbato as Vice President of Business Development. Abbato brings a wealth of experience in biopharma business development and will lead partnering activities across the company from Celdara’s Washington DC office.
“I am delighted to join Celdara. With its unique business model, deep network of successful scientific collaborations, and ever-expanding pipeline of novel assets, Celdara is ideally positioned to advance its development efforts through new partnerships and company formations,” said Abbato. “Business development is a key component of Celdara’s strategy and I am looking forward to working closely with the entire Celdara team to build on their partnering successes to date.”
Abbato comes to Celdara with more than 15 years of experience in corporate and business development, having executed a variety of strategic transactions. Most recently she was Founder and Principal at Perspicere. In this role, she advised on strategy and licensing transactions for early-stage life science companies such as Medigene AG, Millendo Therapeutics, and Deciphera Pharmaceuticals. Previously, Abbato was responsible for search and evaluation, in- and out-licensing transactions, and merger and acquisition activities for Human Genome Sciences (HGS). She has Bachelor’s degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the University of Pittsburg.
Jake Reder, PhD, cofounder and CEO of Celdara Medical, commented, “The demands of Celdara’s broad portfolio of assets on a business development leader are considerable.
