Celdara Medical CEO Named NH Small Business Person of the Year

The U.S. Small Business Administration and the New Hampshire Bankers Association announced its 2017 New Hampshire Small Business Award winners Friday, recognizing outstanding small business owners throughout the state.

Jake Reder, Ph.D., co-founder and CEO of Celdara Medical LLC of Lebanon, was selected as SBA’s New Hampshire Small Business Person of the Year.

Reder will compete with the nation’s top small businesses for the honor of National Small Business Person of the Year during the SBA’s National Small Business Week celebration, April 30 to May 1. The winner will be selected from the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guam. The announcement will be made during an event in Washington, D.C., on May 1.

“This is a wonderful honor, and I couldn’t be more thankful to SBA for all the support they’ve provided over the years. This is also an important acknowledgement of the dedication and inspiration that each of my colleagues brings to Celdara Medical every day. They find the new opportunities that drive our business. They develop those opportunities into new-to-world therapies. They generate the data, and the partnerships, and the clinical impact. Their innumerable contributions, scientific rigor, and incredible passion make all the difference. It’s a cliché for a reason – every one of Celdara’s successes is a shared success. And what could be better than working to bring hope and health to patients and their caregivers? It’s awfully easy to get passionate when you’re working on cures. In short, we’ve got a team of great people doing great things, and this recognition is yet another occasion for me to express my most sincere thanks to the extended Celdara Medical family for the opportunity to be a part of it.”

Greta Johansson, district director of the SBA’s NH District Office, praised Reder’s work.

“As CEO of Celdara Medical, Jake has assembled a team of highly regarded and skilled scientists focused on developing new-to-world therapies — those with the potential to cure humanity’s most challenging diseases — from the lab into the clinic where they can begin to help patients. They do so by working with academic scientists and medical innovators, biotech and pharma leaders, and leading research institutions.”

On May 2, the New Hampshire Bankers Association and the New Hampshire District Office of the Small Business Administration will recognize Reder and the other 2017 New Hampshire Small Business Award recipients at a 4 p.m. reception and awards presentation at the Manchester Country Club in Bedford.
