Celdara Medical and Dartmouth College Name Entrepreneur Fellows

Celdara Medical, LLC and The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College today announced the selection of three outstanding researchers as the recipients of the 2018 Dartmouth SYNERGY/Celdara Medical High-Potential Entrepreneurs’ Fellowships (DS-CHEF). The program provides a part-time, year-long experiential learning opportunity at Celdara Medical to graduate student and post-doctoral researchers. Fellows receive an opportunity to hone their executive skills with operating experience within an entrepreneurial biotech company. This year’s winners are Adam Barczewski, Adrianna De La Torre, and Kimberley Lewis, all Ph.D. candidates at the Geisel School of Medicine.

“We are extremely excited to have Adam, Adrianna and Kimberley join our team as DS-CHEF Fellows,” said Irena Ivanovska, Ph.D., Director at Celdara Medical. “This is a great opportunity for Celdara Medical to deliver on our commitment to give back to the community by providing graduate students with exposure to biotech. In this third year of the DS-CHEF program, we are pleased to see that the program continues to grow and that we have an opportunity to build on the previous successes. The candidate pool was exceptional and we continue to be impressed with the excellence of the students, and their interest in a well-rounded graduate experience.”

“On behalf of my Dartmouth CTSA Grant/SYNERGY leadership colleagues, I’m delighted to welcome the expanded third-year class of DS-CHEF fellows,” said William Green, Co-PI of the SYNERGY Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) program at Dartmouth. “Based on the great experiences of the previous fellows, there is every reason to anticipate that Adrianna, Kimberley, and Adam will also learn a great deal at the intersection of academic research with the work done at Celdara to translate unique research findings towards, ultimately, novel therapeutic products and their first clinical applications.  The partnership of SYNERGY with Celdara in training these energetic graduate students in team science is emblematic of the new diverse workforce needed for impactful clinical and translational research.”

Candidates must be nominated by their thesis advisor and have an outstanding record of accomplishment. Fellows are selected by a joint committee with representation from Dartmouth College and Celdara Medical.
